[00:00:00] My intrigue with the paranormal had drawn me two numerous abandoned places, but the story
[00:00:12] of a never-ending hallway hidden within an old forsaken school on the outskirts of town
[00:00:18] captured my imagination like no other.
[00:00:23] The rumors reached me through fragmented conversations, each adding layers to the legend.
[00:00:30] I'm telling you, it's real.
[00:00:33] Mike insisted, a fellow enthusiast of the abandoned and the arcane as we sat over coffee
[00:00:40] one afternoon.
[00:00:43] They say it just keeps going on and on forever.
[00:00:46] People who've tried to find the end?
[00:00:49] They're never seen again.
[00:00:53] Another account came from a local online forum where a user anonymously named Artifice
[00:00:59] 2 wrote,
[00:01:59] parking lots, dead yards and trees.
[00:02:04] As I stared up, it's decrepit façade stood as a silent sentinel to a bygone era, the
[00:02:11] air around it heavy with a scent of decay.
[00:02:16] Inside the building whispered of its forgotten past, remnants of education and growth now
[00:02:23] overshadowed by rotten neglect.
[00:02:28] I was guided by the beam of my flashlight.
[00:02:31] I navigated through the debris and made my way deeper into the school.
[00:02:37] I wasn't sure where to look or in one direction I would find the rumored hallway, so I just
[00:02:44] kept on walking, passing row upon row of old lockers peering through the windows of the
[00:02:50] various classrooms as I walked by.
[00:02:54] I found myself going in an approximate circle, walking in a straight line for about 30
[00:03:00] paces, making a right turn, 30 more paces, another right turn etc.
[00:03:08] But then I walked 30 paces and there was no right turn.
[00:03:14] I walked on another 30 paces and still no turn in sight.
[00:03:23] It was then I realized that I hadn't found the hallway.
[00:03:28] The hallway had found me.
[00:03:34] Though the hallway initially appeared normal, as I progressed the unsettling reality
[00:03:40] that it was extending before me became apparent.
[00:03:45] At some point I began running at full pace ahead and it was like I was using a treadmill,
[00:03:52] attempting a backtrack reveal day, similar, endless path behind.
[00:03:59] Panic surged as the silence was punctuated only by my echoing footsteps and labored breaths.
[00:04:09] Desperate to escape, I pressed forward the dim light of my dying flashlight barely piercing
[00:04:15] the enveloping darkness.
[00:04:18] It was in this darkness that the doors began to change.
[00:04:22] Some slightly ajar inviting me into deeper shadows while others seemed to pulse ominously.
[00:04:33] I felt these invitations were not as friendly as they wanted to be perceived.
[00:04:40] But as I pressed on and on, in the minutes continued to pass, my flashlight met its end.
[00:04:49] I felt my heart beating out of my chest and in that moment I knew that this was the
[00:04:55] end.
[00:04:57] I was trapped here and my fate was in the hands of this cursed building.
[00:05:05] My fate sealed and nothing left to lose.
[00:05:09] I turned to my left and chose a door.
[00:05:14] Grabbing hold of the handle, its surface was unnaturally cold like it had been sitting
[00:05:19] on ice.
[00:05:22] As I interned the room beyond, I let the all-consuming darkness guide me.
[00:05:29] A few steps in, allowed bang suddenly shouted from behind.
[00:05:34] As I turned around and reached for the door, I was shocked to find nothing of the sort.
[00:05:41] Just a standard flat dry wall.
[00:05:45] It was like the door was never there at all.
[00:05:53] In that pitch black room, time lost all meaning.
[00:05:58] The air itself was oppressive, heavy with dust and unseen malice.
[00:06:05] My heart raced.
[00:06:07] The surrounding darkness seemed alive, pulsing with a sinister anticipation.
[00:06:14] It was as this darkness seemed to fall in around me that I actually heard of voice.
[00:06:21] But it was not a comforting voice.
[00:06:25] It was not a distant voice either.
[00:06:27] It was two words whispered directly into my right ear, so close I could feel its breath.
[00:06:36] It said, not yet.
[00:06:44] I felt like I couldn't take this a second longer.
[00:06:51] Just as I teetered on the edge of madness, a miraculous sliver of daylight suddenly broke
[00:06:58] through a small, previously unnoticed window high up on the wall.
[00:07:04] It cut through the darkness like a beacon.
[00:07:07] And in that moment of light, the oppressive atmosphere lifted momentarily, offering a glimpse
[00:07:14] of hope, the chance of escape.
[00:07:20] As the light touched me, the room and the darkness all around began to dissolve.
[00:07:29] As if reality itself was transforming.
[00:07:32] It felt as though I was being pulled backwards, retracting the steps I never took through
[00:07:40] avoid I couldn't comprehend.
[00:07:44] And what felt like a blink of the eye, I found myself standing back in that hallway.
[00:07:51] The door I had apparently entered now firmly shut, looking just like another anonymous
[00:07:58] barrier in the endless corridor.
[00:08:03] Disoriented and drained I looked around.
[00:08:07] It was the same hallway, alright?
[00:08:10] But far, far into the distance ahead of me, I could see the faintest of lights.
[00:08:17] I squinted to make sure I wasn't seeing things and no, it seemed to be there.
[00:08:24] I began walking forward, and sure enough, the light ahead grew closer with each step.
[00:08:32] I began sprinting with all of my remaining strength towards the end of the hall, and when
[00:08:39] I did, I found to my right a door with a big glass window illuminated by the light of
[00:08:47] the outside world.
[00:08:50] I almost fell to my knees before pressing against the door, the morning light momentarily
[00:08:56] blinding me as I stepped outside.
[00:09:03] The world beyond felt strangely vibrant, too real after the nightmare that never ending
[00:09:10] hallway.
[00:09:12] I just sat there on the grass outside that door looking all around for quite a while
[00:09:22] at the school, at the nearby trees, at the grass and weeds all around me.
[00:09:30] I was so happy to be alive.
[00:09:37] I never spoke of my ordeal, knowing the impossibility of conveying the experience, and more honestly,
[00:09:48] I didn't want to risk being labeled crazy.
[00:09:52] Yet, the memory of the never ending hallway remains etched in my mind, a hunting reminder
[00:10:00] of my brush with the unknown.
[00:10:03] I often ponder the fate of those who might have wondered its length, wondering if they
[00:10:09] too found an inexplicable exit, or if they're still wondering lost to the darkness.
[00:10:22] The question of why I was spared comes up in my mind often.
[00:10:28] To do this, I have no answer.
[00:10:31] But I will speculate.
[00:10:37] About a week after I escaped the school, I had one of the worst nightmares I had ever
[00:10:43] lived.
[00:10:44] I was trapped in that hallway again, running forward endlessly, scared out of my sanity,
[00:10:51] praying for relief, and in the heat of this horror.
[00:10:56] The voice returned, the one I'd heard while trapped in that room.
[00:11:03] However, it had something different to say this time.
[00:11:10] In that same eerie whisper, it spoke, spread the tale, or come back soon.
[00:11:25] I awoke immediately after.
[00:11:31] Was it all just a dream, devoid of any meaning or reason?
[00:11:37] Possibly.
[00:11:38] But in the off-chance, I was the recipient of an astral message, and keeping in mind
[00:11:45] that I most certainly will not be going back anytime soon.
[00:11:50] I decided to do my part and spread the word.
[00:11:58] What you do with this information is up to you, but I cannot lie, and I must warn you not
[00:12:05] to follow in my footsteps.
[00:12:10] If you hear rumors of an old band in school that houses the enigma of a never-ending hallway,
[00:12:18] remember this story.
[00:12:21] Do yourself a favor and heed my warning.
