[00:00:00] I was practically dragged through the door.
[00:00:09] Jesus, John, what's the matter with you?
[00:00:13] I huffed, throwing my jacket to the hardwood floor.
[00:00:16] By the time I got turned around, the door. We usually just texted stupid memes and talked about video games we both liked, and it was always very casual, lighthearted to the extreme. So I was taken a little off guard when I read, Are you alone?
[00:01:40] I need to know if you are alone right now.
[00:01:45] I had to read it straight to his car. In the shock, I managed to struggle away along with a barrage of whoa, whoa, whoa's.
[00:03:01] But I could tell my was, I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I just can't believe it. Over and over again. We were at his house in what felt like 60 seconds. Though he was nice enough to allow me my free walk to his car, the rules went back to his
[00:04:20] as I got out of the car.
[00:04:22] He immediately grabbed my right arm and dragged me out into the sidewalk from the driveway
[00:04:27] to his front door. I've seen my friend, or anyone for that matter, so disturbed as what I was then witnessing. I approached him gingerly, and again spoke his name. When there was no reply or response of any kind, I tried again. What did you bring me here for, John?
[00:05:44] I tried to whisper in down to the floor, but he immediately twitched away from me and began
[00:07:01] pacing around in the darkened den.
[00:07:03] No, no, I can't relax.
[00:07:06] I just gotta tell a soul. I could see from the few scant rays of light coming from the living room. He stared me down with a ferocity that genuinely scared me.
[00:08:20] Eventually, he looked back down to the floor, and after a few moments from then, he even way home from a back road. I figured my usual 20 minute drive might end up 30 minutes. But about 2 minutes after I veer off onto this forested country road, I hear this loud pop sound simultaneous with my car suddenly growing a mind of its own. It was veering from right
[00:09:40] to left back and forth completely out of my control, was like the tire had exploded and immediately disintegrated against the asphalt as I torpedoed off the road. I'd come to a stop about forty feet off the road, right on the edge of the tree line that kept the road enclosed on both sides. I couldn't even see the lights from the
[00:11:00] highway from here.
[00:11:03] I stood there in the muddy grass before the forest that had nearly eaten my car, make sure none of the other tires were busted. Walking along the other side, the side closest to the trees, I was able to see that the other tires were fine for no more than a second before my flashlight app suddenly turned off.
[00:12:21] I was at first annoyed.
[00:12:24] Glitchy app, I'd see like a hint of something. Like a spark of white somewhere in my visual field that seemed to come from
[00:13:41] its own source. Or at least, I thought that's studied him in silence. I was pretty sure he was constantly moving his gaze from the street to the highest stars about every three seconds. A few minutes of this go by before I tried to make sure he hadn't forgotten we
[00:15:01] were in the midst of a conversation or how to tell you this. I don't know how to tell this to anyone without sounding crazy, but I know what I saw. I can only know what I saw." John's head slipped into his hands as he made a sound I could only describe as someone
[00:16:21] trying deeply to hold back a cry of terror. than I could see, but their uniforms looked just like that of an average military soldier. The perimeter of this circle contained about four large light poles hooked up to this generator that was relatively close to my side of the circle. There was one light pole in each inferred corner, but none of this is what grabbed my attention.
[00:18:42] Imagine what it'd be. But I kind of mindlessly followed the direction of the light with my eyes up to the night's
[00:18:48] sky.
[00:18:50] And my stomach began to shrivel up as I found myself staring up at the three dots of light
[00:19:00] that make up Orion's belt.
[00:19:04] I stare back down to the rays of light,, but not clearly enough to make out words when
[00:20:23] they spoke normally. down and pumped his fists into the air. The hell were they doing? Just a few moments later, I would know exactly what they were gawking over. As my gaze went back to the top of the projector telescope thing, I realized that while there
[00:21:41] had previously been three streaks of light shining to the floor, cross-legged once more.
[00:23:06] He released a deep sigh after a fifty times, but to no avail.
[00:24:21] I was awake, alright.
[00:24:24] Very, very awake. pile of bones. But after a long time, much longer than it felt to get to the light source, I felt myself tumble out onto a bed of weeds and grass. And at of a moment, the deep low aspect of the sound seemed to vanish, nod. He looked up over the. Straight at me. I tried to meet my gaze back up to the main officers as quickly and nonchalantly as I
[00:29:41] could manage.
[00:29:43] He too was no longer moving at all. Left to right, just a tiny, subtle shake, and immediately I saw the officer by the cruiser remove his hand from his hip and walk back over to the passenger side of the cruiser. The main officer went back to staring at me, though he was acting slightly less serious
[00:31:02] than the stone coldness I expression of disappointment on his face. I must have been mistaken, officer. But my car just died and I can't get it to start. He gave a superficial glance to the inside of my car and then said in a manner I could
[00:32:23] only call unimpressed. But just before the officer let me be, I saw his look of concern strain to a slight smirk. He then took a deep breath, patted the roof of my car, and then said, well, you have a safe drive home, and you'll be taking the highway, so just head on back from where you
[00:33:45] came. But by the time I was back dealing with construction traffic I tried to avoid, the events that had just happened began replaying in my mind. Over and over again, I thought about those military guys, in that projector, about those
[00:35:00] stars.
